Small and mid-sized commercial printers ready to take control of their own production will learn how to automate their prepress department, drive multiple devices from a single RIP, and streamline the entire platemaking process.

New OpenRIP Symphony 2.0: Features & Benefits

RIPitʼs new OpenRIP Symphony 2.0 upgrade offers new features and enhancements including support for Adobeʼs latest CSPI 3017 Interpreter. The new Adobe PDF Print Engine streamlines the PDF workflow and provides reliable printing of complex creative designs under tight deadlines.

New OpenRIP Symphony 2.0 is available as a standard upgrade and separately with Adobeʼs PDF Print Engine. Some features and benefits for OpenRIP Symphony 2.0 (standard upgrade) include:

  • CSPI 3017, the latest edition of the PostScript Interpreter from Adobe
  • More support for a variety of inkjet printers, enhanced print drivers and expanded profiles for RIPitʼs New Harmony brand inkjet proofing papers
  • New custom color bar options for StripRITE users and more.
  • Upgrade with Adobeʼs PDF Print Engine benefits include:
  • APPE interprets PDF files natively, without early conversion to PostScript, this saves time and preserves file integrity throughout the entire workflow.
  • No transparency flattening — transparency is maintained through the trapping stage.
  • Better support of ICC profiles, because those profiles are part of the PDF architecture.
  • Supports Acrobat 8 version PDFs, now being prepared by designers using CS2.

Quality, Affordable CtP Solutions that Fit

RIPitʼs SpeedSetter VM (Violet Metal) CtP systems are available as complete, turnkey CtP solutions also including RIPitʼs powerful OpenRIP SymphonyTM core RIP, with available advanced features including raster preview, in-RIP trapping, raster imposition, CIP3 support; and economical solutions for inkjet proofing and hybrid screening.
