With iQueue, the X-Series can print multiple layers of white ink textured or raised print. The X-Series can build up to 16 layers of white ink plus a CMYK layer.

The X-Series requires the user to manually set the printhead height when a substrate is changed. However, the X-Series also utilizes a crash avoidance system to automatically raise the bed slightly when a head strike is possible. The crash avoidance system will only prevent crashes when the printhead height is slightly lower than necessary. Large conflicts in printhead height will not be resolved automatically by the crash avoidance system.

The X-33 does have an automatic head height feature which can be enabled by the operator.

Like other Inkjet devices print quality is a function of the print resolution, smoothing, and print speed chosen. When the print quality is increased (by improving the resolution or smoothing) the print will take longer to complete.

It is recommended to test various combinations of Print Resolution and Smoothing (both found in the Printer Settings module of a job ticket) to find the preferred settings for each substrate. Some recommendations include:

Coroplast Signage – Since coroplast signage is typically viewed from further away and is mass produced it is recommended to use a lower print quality setting.

  • Resolution: 1440
  • Smoothing: Medium

Glass, Acrylic, Metal, and high quality prints – Prints on glass, acrylic, metal and other like substrates are typically viewed up close. For these types of jobs it is recommended to use a higher print quality setting

  • Resolution: 2880
  • Smoothing: High

Templates – Templates are used for substrate placement when printing multiple smaller objects. The template mode utilizes very little ink and prints very quickly.

  • Resolution: Template
  • Smoothing: Low

Job Ticket settings can easily be automated by creating job presets within iQueue. Once a job preset is defined, a new print job’s settings can be edited quickly with two clicks.

The X-Series can be used with many different substrates including: PVC plastic, styrene, wood, aluminum, metal, acrylics, coroplast, ceramics, fabric, leather, composites, paperboard, foamboard, glass, carpet, tile, and more.

Yes, the X-Series can print a full bleed on any object smaller than the maximum print size.

Extreme static buildup can create print quality issues including sand during and ink misting. Cleaning the substrate with alcohol can quickly remove static buildup. Industrial static wands and other solutions exist for managing static in low humidity environments.

Xante and our partners offer several different types of training for the X-Series including:

  • Phone installation training with Xante Technical Support
  • Webex training with Xante Sales
  • Onsite training with a dealer or distributor’s technician
  • Onsite training with a Xante Technician

Note: Each different training option may or may not be available in certain situations.

Note: There is typically an installation training fee associated with each option listed above.

The X-Series can be used to print on fabrics. It is not advised to print on fabric substrates that will be routinely washed such as clothing.

Artwork can be designed by most any graphic design application and saved as a PDF. It’s recommended to utilize Pantone or Spot colors when designing artwork which enables iQueue’s RightOn tool to re-map and change colors with ease as needed.

Please consult the X-Series Operation Manual for step by step instructions for printing white with the X-Series.

Xanté’s iQueue PrePress Workflow is packaged for use with each X-Series printer.

Yes, the consumables are covered under Xante’s Spare Part and Consumables warranty.

  • The X-16 ink has a six month shelf life. Expired inks cannot be used with the X-Series. Using expired inks can cause extreme damage to the printhead and ink system.
  • The X-33 ink has a six month shelf life. Expired inks cannot be used with the X-Series. Using expired inks can cause extreme damage to the printheads and ink system.
  • Like other inkjet printers the X-16 should be powered on at all times. The X-16 does complete an automated cleaning cycle routinely and stirs the inks in the system. Turning the X-16 off for extended time periods can damage the printhead and ink system.
  • Like other inkjet printers the X-33 should be powered on at all times. The X-33 does complete an automated cleaning cycle routinely and stirs the inks in the system. Turning the X-33 off for extended time periods can damage the printheads and ink system.
  • The X-16 should only be used with Xante-branded ink. Xante is committed to providing customers with the best output possible. We supply Xante-branded ink which has been formulated for and tested with the X-16. Purchasing ink from other vendors may cause extreme damage to the printhead and ink system. Damage resulting from the use of ink from other manufacturers is not covered under Xante’s RightCare Agreement or Spare Parts and Consumables Warranty.
  • The X-33 should only be used with Xante-branded ink. Xante is committed to providing customers with the best output possible. We supply Xante-branded ink which has been formulated for and tested with the X-33. Purchasing ink from other vendors may cause extreme damage to the printhead and ink system. Damage resulting from the use of ink from other manufacturers is not covered under Xante’s RightCare Agreement or Spare Parts and Consumables Warranty.

The X-Series has an estimated cost of 21 cents per square foot for 100% coverage in CMYK. For full-coverage in CMYKW is 42 cents per square foot.

The X-Series requires either 110v or 220v +/- 10A direct input power.

The iQueue Pre-Press Workflow is required to run on a Windows PC to operate the X-Series. It is recommended to utilize a PC with at least Windows 10 installed.

  • The X-16 is supplied with a single jig to print on cylinder-shaped objects. However, Xante is reviewing options to supply our customers with additional jigs to be used with the X16 and the X33 printers. Xante at this time will supply manufacturers information that you can purchase custom jigs from for use with your X16 and X33 printer.
  • Customers are encouraged to use the template printing mode to create layout guides in ink. Customers can also create their own physical jigs for printing high volumes of specialized substrates.

With the bed and printhead extended to each physical limit the X16 is:

  • 54” W x 54” L x 64” Tall
  • These measurements take into account the bed’s full movement range in the Y-Axis and the carriages full movement range in the Z-Axis.

With the bed and printhead extended to each physical limit the X33 is:

  • 63” W x 81” L x 58” Tall
  • These measurements take into account the bed’s full movement range in the Y-Axis and the carriages full movement range in the Z-Axis.

The printhead should be positioned so that it is 2-3mm above the substrate.

The consumables and ink should be discarded in accordance with local and state waste management regulations. Waste management regulations between localities can vary extremely.

There is also routine operator maintenance required as outlined in the Operator Manuals to maximize the printer’s print quality and functionality. This maintenance takes approx 15min per day for the operator to complete.

Each substrate should be cleaned with alcohol to remove any dust or dirt buildup before printing. In addition, some substrates may need to be wiped down with dryer sheets to remove static buildup.

Output from the X-Series can be placed in direct sunlight. The printed output is expected to last 1-2 years in direct sunlight.

UV cured inks have the advantage of being virtually VOC-free, so they are much safer than other alternatives. UV ink can be handled safely as long as they operator is well trained and observes all recommended safety procedures. UV printing is considered a green technology, safer for environment and leaving an almost zero carbon footprint.

  • Please consult Xante’s X-Series RightCare Agreement for specific information on Xante’s service agreement.
  • Additional service agreements may be reached with an Xante authorized X series dealer if the X-Series was purchased from a dealer.

There is only very minor emittance. Since sensitivity varies highly between individuals please ensure that proper ventilation is available in the print production area, as one would with any solvent ink printers.
