RIPit & Spicers Announce Distribution Agreement
Spicers Adds RIPit’s SpeedSetter® VM CtP Series & Award-Winning OpenRIP® Symphony Workflow to Portfolio
October 15, 2006 – CHICAGO (Graph & Converting Expo) – RIPit® Imaging Systems, Inc. and Spicers, a division of PaperlinX Canada, have signed a distribution agreement whereby Spicers will add the RIPit SpeedSetter VM2 and VM4 Violet Metal CtP systems; as well as award-winning Open RIP Symphony workflow software, to its product portfolio for customers in Canada. The two companies made the announcement today, here at Graph & Converting Expo 2006.
According to Spicers’ Reg Stevens, National Product Manager, Graphic Products; the RIPit equipment and software line, in concert with a new Violet Plate Spicers recently added to its catalog, adds a new dimension of offerings for the company. “These new products, in conjunction with our thermal offering, make possible a broader market opportunity for Spicers.”
“As Violet CtP technology gains momentum in the Canadian market, Spicers is well positioned to respond to our customers needs with these new and innovative products. In this new partnership, Spicers and RIPit are able to offer Canadian printers proven, repeatable printing performance while maintaining simplicity of operation, ” says Stevens.
“We’ve seen growing interest in the Canadian marketplace — particularly among small- to mid-sized commercial and quick printers — for CtP and workflow solutions that are proven to streamline production,” says Wayne Wasulko, RIPit Founder & President.
“However,” Wasulko continues, “High quality, affordable options have been limited, until now. We believe that with Spicers, our SpeedSetter VM series and OpenRIP Symphony workflow will fill the gap for high quality, affordable turnkey CtP solutions in Canada.”
Fast, Affordable, & Quality CtP and Workflow
The SpeedSetter VM series is available as a complete, turnkey CtP system which also includes RIPit’s powerful OpenRIP® SymphonyTM core RIP, with advanced features available including raster preview, CIP3 support, in-RIP trapping, raster imposition; and economical solutions for proofing and hybrid screening. Customers can also add a photopolymer plate processor.
