Xanté Introduces OpenRIP® FastCards
Affordable, Easy-To-Use Printing System Produces Hi Res, Full-Color
Business Cards on Heavy Stock — in Just Minutes!
Combines Xanté & RIPit Award-Winning Technologies in Unique,
On-Demand Printing Solution
September 9, 2007 – CHICAGO (Graph Expo) – Now any printer can offer “while you wait” high quality, on-demand printing, as Xanté Corporation today introduces OpenRIP® FastCards, the first product built on the combined technologies of Xanté and RIPit. OpenRIP FastCards is the first automated, integrated printing system to deliver high resolution, full-color prints on heavy stock — in just minutes, and all on a desktop-sized system. OpenRIP FastCards combines the award-winning Xanté Ilumina 4-color digital press, the award-winning OpenRIP® Symphony workflow, a flatbed scanner, and Xanté AdvancedScan™ scanning and imposition technology in an exclusive system designed specifically for rapid production of business card (or similar) output.
The Competitive Heat is On!
This versatile integrated system will allow print shops to compete with the fastest turnaround and highest quality for business cards, postcards, table tent cards, banners, and more. From scanning to processing output, the typical card job takes only a few minutes, allowing shops to offer “while you wait” materials on stock up to 24 point.
Says Wayne Wasulko, senior vice president for RIP Technology at Xanté, and whose team spearheaded the effort, “With OpenRIP FastCards, the automation and ease of use is very unique. Our design team made the whole process so easy that anyone in the organization can produce excellent results in a very short period of time. Businesses that print in-house will have an unprecedented opportunity to support communications – and especially sales – requirements with truly on-demand printing, with no compromise.”
Automated Software Handles the Job
OpenRIP FastCards automated software does all the work; allowing printers to easily and efficiently handle complex digital files, and configure them to suit a variety of production and bindery needs. In seconds, anyone can set up one-sided or two-sided, single-color or multi-color jobs (with or without bleeds) for a wide variety of stock sizes and weights. Sending digital files (PS, EPS, PDF, and TIFF files) directly to OpenRIP FastCards from networked Mac or Windows workstations is completely automated.
Plus, OpenRIP FastCards streamlines prepress production with provision for ganging the same job or multiple jobs together, applying independent quantities to each, and specifying the desired page size for output. OpenRIP FastCards automatically applies the correct step-and-repeat for the most efficient use of stock. With setup complete, users have the option to print a sample for review or customer approval.
The OpenRIP FastCards software is an integrated feature option of Xanté OpenRIP® Symphony, an Adobe® PostScript® 3™ RIP that offers the Adobe PDF Print Engine and an award-winning workflow designed to increase prepress production and reduce human error.
Easy installation, wizard-based operation and a small footprint make OpenRIP FastCards a perfect fit for in-plant and print shops of all sizes.
